About the ingredients:

To make these buns, I used 0000 flour, commonly known in other countries as all-purpose flour. In general, depending on your brand, it can absorb more or less amount of liquid, which is why I recommend incorporating it gradually. As a result, keep in mind that the smaller the volume, the smaller the final product.

The fat used in this opportunity is olive oil. But it can be replaced by butter, margarine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, etc. Even so, depending on what fat is used, it can change its texture and final flavor. Therefore, always keep in mind the type and class of ingredients when preparing a specific recipe.

This is a recipe where you can choose between milk, non-dairy milk or just water. Similarly, you have the option of using a mixture of them, that is, half and half. As a consequence, depending on what you decide to use, it can significantly change its final flavor. I recommend using milk for less rustic results.

About the shape of the buns:

Once the dough is ready and leavened, proceed to fill. To do this, first roll out the dough into a square or rectangular shape using a rolling pin or the hands. The filling is then spread over the dough and is rolled up. Therefore, it is divided by cutting the roll of dough into as many parts as you want. And finally, each of the parts is balled without kneading.

This would be the easiest way for me, although it is true that you can shape them in another way. Feel free to modify this recipe according to your convenience or need in terms of its preparation method or ingredients used. However, if fluffy buns with volume are desired, the proofing times would not be modified.

About Cooking:

Finally, once you have shaped the ham and cheese buns, as an option before baking, you can brush them with a mixture of egg and milk. In this way, breads with a soft and attractive golden color will be obtained. In this step you can take advantage and sprinkle superficially with seeds as well.
